Phase Managers Attend FAMP 2017: How to manage Digital Transformation
The topic of this year’s Module of the FEGIME Academy
Management Programme – FAMP – was: How to Manage
Digital Transformation. It is was attended by 51 next
generation entrepreneurs from 13 countries. 12 of the
participants were at a FEGIME Future meeting for the first
time including 1 from Phase Electrical.
Digitalisation is the buzz-word of the moment. And not only that: it is a vital development that all FEGIME wholesalers and family businesses in general just cannot afford to ignore.
The week took place at ESCP Europe’s German campus in Berlin–Charlottenburg. Established in 1819 in Paris, ESCP Europe is the world’s first and oldest business school. With its 6 European campuses it is ranked a Top Three school in several countries and is currently 12th in Europe in the overall Financial Times “European Business Schools” ranking.
The Core Subjects at the FAMP were: Managing Digital Transformation, Digital Marketing, Digital Strategy & Technologies, Big Data and Digital Business Models. In addition the Soft Skills were Digital Competence and Digital Leadership.
The whole week however was pointed at the “Tool to Take Home”. This year the aim was to examine digital strategy for family businesses and create potential new digital projects for FEGIME.
Jack Spicer our Marketing Manager said.
“When I was asked to attend this year’s FAMP, I knew straight away it would be a great opportunity after hearing about previous years from my colleagues. To be able to go to Berlin and attend the ESCP business school was very exciting. The week’s course was all about Digital Transformation and Strategy and how we could implement that into our companies.
Being the first time I have attended a FAMP it was great to see how all of our European friends do things differently and sharing ideas together. Overall it was a great week, and I came away
with some exciting ideas that Phase can hopefully look into.”
Rob Haworth one of our Business Development Managers also attended and said,
“After attending my first FAMP last year and thoroughly enjoying the whole experience, I jumped at the chance when I was invited to this year’s event. Although the module was geared towards Digital Marketing, which isn’t my field specifically, I found the week to be extremely rewarding and worthwhile, as this subject is something we cannot ignore and need to learn more about. I strongly believe that working closely within the Fegime Future programme helps Phase Electrical and I’m looking forward to be invited again next year.
